Fernanda Muñoz participates in Punta Cana in the presentation of the magazine Mujer de Concreto, highlighting female leadership in architecture
Fernanda Muñoz, founding partner of EME Concepts, shares her vision on female leadership in the development of real estate and hotel projects, highlighting its impact in a constantly evolving sector
Coinciding with International Women's Day, the launch of the magazine was held at the Four Points Hotel in Punta Cana Concrete Woman. This publication, an initiative of The Real Estate Agent, led by journalist Ana María Ramos, aimed to highlight and celebrate the fundamental role of women in the real estate, construction and tourism sectors in the Dominican Republic. With an initial print run of 2,000 copies, the magazine established itself as an educational resource and a space for recognizing women’s contributions in these key industries.
The event featured two conferences prior to the central panel. The first was given by Hernando Gómez Begambre, who addressed the topic Transformational Leadership in the era of the Digital Revolution. Then, Yermys Peña presented her paper The Code of Power without Excuses, offering a highly inspiring perspective on empowerment and strategic decision-making.
The panel was then held. Concrete Women: Architects of strong leadership, in which our partner and founder, Fernanda Muñoz, participated. She was joined by Iris Espinal, commercial director of the North Noval area, and Reyna Echenique, CEO of Grupo Echenique. The moderation was in charge of Osman González, commercial director of Civilmek, and Julissa Báez, executive director of ADOCEM.
Fernanda's participation in this panel reflected her commitment and track record in promoting female leadership in the field of architecture and construction. Her experience and vision, backed by her extensive career in Project Management and design of residential and hotel projects in Spain and the Caribbean, provided a valuable perspective on how women are redefining and strengthening these traditionally male-dominated sectors. During her speech, Fernanda highlighted that there are many opportunities in the Dominican Republic, with a greater number of square meters available and a more dynamic market compared to Spain, where the sector is more focused on renovations. She also highlighted that the key to success is based on perseverance as a fundamental pillar, emphasizing her philosophy with the phrase: "Whatever you do, do it well, but do it."
Fernanda also highlighted the rapid growth that the eastern part of the country is experiencing, highlighting improvements in infrastructure and roads as a necessary response to the boom in tourism, residential and hotel projects under development. She stressed the importance of detailed and well-structured urban planning to address this growth in a sustainable manner, ensuring that the development of the region is carried out with a long-term vision and in harmony with the needs of the sector and the community.
The magazine Concrete Woman not only makes visible the work of women in these industries, but also serves as a platform to share knowledge and experiences that inspire future generations of professionals. Each edition celebrates female empowerment, highlighting success and leadership stories that are shaping the future of the real estate and construction sector in the country.
At EME Concepts, we celebrate and appreciate this initiative and the recognition of female talent that drives a more inclusive and equitable future.
