EME Concepts founder Fernanda Muñoz participated in the 2nd Sustainability Communication and Consulting Conference, organized by the Santa Susanna City Council. This event, focused on the circular economy as a strategy to strengthen tourism competitiveness, was attended by experts from the hotel, architectural, and environmental sectors.

Fernanda was part of the round table "Sustainability and the Circular Economy in Hotel and Restaurant Design", where he presented the challenges and opportunities of sustainable design in different geographies. He highlighted the differences between hotel projects in Europe and the Caribbean, emphasizing the shortage of skilled labor in Spain and the need to adapt to local resources in the Caribbean to optimize costs. As an example, he mentioned the artisanal manufacturing of construction elements in the Caribbean, which reduces dependence on imports and improves project efficiency, as is the case with sidewalk and pool curbs and palm-leaf roofs.

In addition, Fernanda presented the case of Secret Garden, a residential and hotel project in Punta Cana that has earned the Green Seal thanks to the involvement of the local community. This approach has allowed for the improvement of nearby infrastructure, such as a school, and the use of natural materials such as palm tree trunks and cane for roofing, promoting a design that blends seamlessly with the surroundings.

The event took place in an intimate and high-level setting, bringing together leaders from the tourism and environmental sectors. Other roundtables addressed topics such as coastal regeneration and the restoration of marine ecosystems affected by port infrastructure.

Active participation in events of this type reinforces our company's commitment to the environment and sustainability. At EME Concepts, we continue to champion sustainable and conscious design, integrating the circular economy as a key pillar in the development of responsible and efficient hotel projects.
